Born in Porto Alegre Brazil in 1968 of Japanese parents, studied fashion design in Japan at Kyushu design Gakkuin and after graduation worked for Junko Koshino for 2 years as design assistant. At age 22 moved to New York, studied accessories design at F.I.T (mainly shoes and handbags) Then did internship at Eneslow,an orthopedic shoe store. Launched own label in 2001.
