Let’s talk denim...
Trying on jeans can sometimes feel like dating. You want to find a pair that you fall in love with and that make you feel your best. But often to find this pair, you need to kiss a few frogs, and those frogs can make you feel insecure, uncomfortable or overwhelmed. I get it, and that’s why I’m going to play matchmaker and help you find the perfect pair.
First, I’ll introduce you to some of our favourite styles from Paige.
Meet Anessa, a super cool and trendy style from Paige; it’s a high-rise wide leg with a 31” inseam. They can really elongate the legs and create a super flattering silhouette. They’re a straight leg, so wide from thigh to ankle which can easily be dressed up or dressed down. They are the softest denim and so comfortable. I love these with a pointed toe shoe, especially the silver Woden kitten heels, or a pointed boot.
Cameron is my perfect pair from Paige, they’re slimmer than the Anessa and not quite as long. They’re also a looser fit and slouchy, so a great everyday jean. These are a great classic and very versatile. I chose to size up in them to wear them as a mid-rise, and when you cuff them, it can look a bit more like a barrel shape.
Maybe Sawyer is the one for you? They’re Paige’s slim straight leg that hugs the thighs and skim the calves, making them easy pair with anything. The high-rise elongates the legs and nips the waist in creating a gorgeous shape. Sawyer is rather universally flattering and easy to style making it a staple in so many wardrobes.
We’ve also got some cool styles from Kings of Indigo that might be more your type.
Meet Leila, my favourite style from Kings of Indigo. They’re a cropped balloon leg that are very similar to the trendy barrel leg shape: wide around the thighs and calves but taper at the ankle. We have a few different washes in this style so can be integrated into many different wardrobes. I also sized up in these and wear them as a mid-rise because I like a loose slouchy fit. A crop and taper are also great for us shorter ladies, as it’s easy for wide straight jeans to swallow us up.
Maybe Jane is more your cup of tea? They’ re a relaxed flare that nips in at the waist and fits around your thighs making your bum look great. They kick out slightly at the calves and this shape coupled with the high-rise fit really elongates the legs. These look great with a simple tee, square-toe boots and a cropped jacket. I think the Maison Hotel Botticcelli quilted jacket would be gorgeous with these jeans.
Hopefully next time you’re trying on jeans, you can know what your perfect pair might look like. Maybe Anessa’s trendy wide leg is your thing or Leila’s tapered ankle is more your style.
